Our area runs from Cannock in the north to Stourbridge in the south, with Wolverhampton at its heart. It takes in Black Country towns such as Dudley, Walsall, Bilston, Tipton and Wednesbury. It also covers the leafy west of the city, including Tettenhall and the village of Codsall. Each town page explains the local homes and drains, since knowing them helps you understand the problem.
Because homes differ from town to town, so do their problems. For example, old clay drains behind Victorian terraces in Walsall block in different ways from plastic pipes on a newer Cannock estate. However, the way to get help is the same everywhere. You send one request, and we pass it to an engineer who covers your street.

Each card below links to a town page with local advice. The larger towns also have their own pages for drain services and, in six towns, for emergency plumbing. Because the newer town pages are hubs, they link to the main service pages instead. Either way, you can send a request from any page.

Severn Trent runs the public sewers across our whole area. Since October 2011, it has also looked after most shared lateral drains in England, as Citizens Advice explains. So if a drain you share with neighbours blocks, report it to Severn Trent first. However, the drains inside your boundary that only serve your home are yours.
Water supply works differently. South Staffs Water supplies towns such as Walsall, Dudley, Cannock, Tipton and Wednesbury, while other parts of the area have a different supplier. Your water bill shows which company serves your home. For leaks in the street, contact your water supplier, while leaks inside your home need a plumber.
Need a plumber or drain engineer?
Send a request with your postcode and a short note about the problem. We pass it to a local engineer, who contacts you to agree a time. The quote is free, while the price is always agreed before any work starts. Because the form stays open 24/7, you can send it at any hour.
